Known as "arc lights" the low rumble of a B-52 bombing run could be heard for at
least 30 miles.
When flying thru an artillery fire zone, you always called ahead to make sure
you didn't fly thru someone's artillery fire...but they always let you know of
any 'arc lights' that were going on as well.
Max ord was always called out as 30,000 feet!...20,000 for artillery.
