Luftwaffe insignia do not appear to be painted, they look more like poorly
applied decals. Note the cross on the starboard fuselage, it is peeling up at
the lower left corner.
Adding to my original speculation, I have see such things done for the purpose
of air display at air shows. If a Movie prop, it would have been done a bit
more artfully.
