Over the years I have flown KLM World Business Class in 747's and 777's
(not in the 787-9 yet) which doesn't offer a First Class. Also Business
and Economy Class in Alaskan, Canadian, Swissair, BA, Delta, United,
SkyWest, SAA, and way back when, Allegeny and Eastern. First Class has
been limited to Northwestern, Delta and United.

For this trip I didn't have the air miles for upgrades, or the
inclination to pay over $7000. Now that I am retired that would have
put a major dent in my pension. However, I did opt for the KLM "Economy
Comfort" and had seat 11D.

> What was the seat pitch?

The KLM 787 "Economy" has a pitch of 31 in. Their "Economy Comfort" is
35 in., and it does make a difference, well worth it on a longer flight.
Now that I have accumulated some more milage I need to try their 787
"World Business Class". So a European visit is going to be in order
soon.
