First of the 321st? I did an ARTEP with them in 1983 as part of a small
unit exchange from 5e RALC (the French-speaking unit of the Royal Canadian
Horse Artillery). I was sent FOO-ing with the 1/506 Infantry who were, at
the time, a demoralized shower of sh*t. The battalion's ARTEP was ceased
prematurely because some prat began firing live 5.56 rounds over our heads
out in the training area.
Before the ARTEPs, we did air assault training. The instructors at the
school had a hard time with how much "assault," when pronounced in French,
sounded like "asshole."
Canadian Forces regulations do not allow us to wear the Bullwinkle badge,
but at least we have our coins.
