Not many, but as they do sometimes, don't fall foul of complacency.

Not a lot of new drives fail shortly after usage.

So a new drive was used as a backup device and not tested to do it's
job. Another lesson there, don't trust it til it shows it's true
colours. Although all devices will fail eventually, it is a small risk
that both the primary and secondary will fail at the same time. You
therefore have time to ensure the backups you take are true.
Check my CV snaps regarding DR.. That's 'Disaster Recovery', not a
doctor.!

Like (Well, EXACTLY as I said), there are ways to avoid disappointment
which, if ignored, have only the decision maker to blame.
