The Brits need a download speed of 18 Mbps so that a 5GB video can be downloaded in about 45 Minutes.
If you are a yank it explains why you are gun crazy, write dates backwards and use dumb expressions like "I guess I gotten"
If you are not a yank then it explains why you still have a Commodore 64 and use Outlook Express as your Newsgroup client?

Heh...you said "I PEE"...you're awesome!
So what do you need 18mps of porn for? Sounds excessive. Of course if your
British...well...that would explain it.

Try using two connections and a ZX Spectum Mr Dinosaur Miloch.
Click here to learn why you are a pin brain who is incapable
of learning the difference between an I PEE connection and a donkey!
Yes that it! The donkey goes E-awe.

Sounds suspicious...I'll just keep my single connection...frankly, not sure if
my Commodore 64 can handle more than one.

The purpose of using multiple connections is to overcome network congestion where a virtual path is fully loaded with traffic in order to increase download speed.
There is no intrinsic reason why 20 connections should not work without packet loss but, where the network is suffering severe packet loss it quite plausible that by reducing the number network connections the immediate problem is solved as in this case.
I use astraweb with the number of connections set to 20 and typically achieve a download speed of 18Mbps over an access network ADSL connection of length 0.8Km.
Cheers,
Macro Man.

Seriously....one is all you need.
Trust me

Something I did not know about downloading files...
Did you know it is not always good to be downloading with the max. number of
connections offered by your server.
I was using 20 connections and found more than once that if I changed the
setting to say 11 or 13 or so most of the time the files are completed.
I also saw some comments from astraweb users saying and ververifyingis for
some reason..
just a little heads up..
