An anonymous collector contacted me and asked if I was interested in some low generation recordings they collected back
in the day. Of course the answer was yes. They have been out of the trading scene for a long time. In fact the recordings
them, they made a copy for trading and listening purposes and recently to share the recordings with us.
It's understandable why this partial soundboard never was released by any mainstream bootlegger. It's barely over 45 minutes
long. It was released on CD by Winged Wheel Records as "Down In Jungleland Part II". That version ran at the wrong speed as did
being from this date when it was actually a copy of the 1976-04-07 Cleveland soundboard. It's hard to believe that they had the
date wrong, when they furnished the artwork with pictures from the Tunnel Of Love Express Tour.
I was briefly hesitant to call this a low generation tape, but I haven't heard a better version to date. Our anonymous collector
probably obtained this from someone with ties to CBS/Columbia. Take a listen for yourself and let your ears be the judge.
Thanks to the Anonymous Collector for sharing.
Hope you enjoy. Buckshot.
01)IT'S HARD TO BE A SAINT IN THE CITY
02)JUNGLELAND
03)ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT)
04)RAISE YOUR HAND
05)4TH OF JULY, ASBURY PARK (SANDY)
06)QUARTER TO THREE
Known faults:
Incomplete show. The tape begins during the guitar duel at the end of "Saint In The City".
Tape slice during "Quarter To Three".
From Brucbase WikiDot:
"Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" includes a snippet of "Theme From Shaft" in the midsection.
Soundboard recording which is comprised of the above incomplete set released on CD 'Down In Jungleland Vol 2' (Winged Wheel), minus "It's
Hard To Be A Saint In The City". CD 'Prove It All Night' (Flashback) claims to feature soundboard tracks from this show, but it is believed
they actually come from the April 7, 1976 show at the Allen Theatre in Cleveland.
