An anonymous collector contacted me and asked if I was interested in some low generation recordings they collected back
in the day. Of course the answer was yes. They have been out of the trading scene for a long time. In fact the recordings
received them, they made a copy for trading and listening purposes and recently to share the recordings with us.
It's interesting to ponder who was more nervous at the beginning of the Tunnel of Love tour. Bruce, the band or the fans?
Bruce threw everyone for a curve when he essentially recorded the album with minimal participation from the E Street Band.
One can imagine that fans were inquisitive to see what would be store on tour in support of an album that seemingly didn't
really blend with Bruce's previous output. Fans found out night one that gone were staples such as The Promised Land,
Jungleland, Badlands and Thunder Road.
Brucebase lists two separate recordings from this show. One of them would be the most well known from the Mark Persic
master tapes. I'm not sure if this is the other recording Brucebase lists or not. BB states that Persic recording is
superior to the other known recording. Upon close inspection, I would say that they are pretty close in terms of quality.
The second circulating tape may very well be from this recording. I would guess that these tapes are most likely first
generation. After speaking with resident Springsteen recording expert Mjk5510, it looks like there are two maybe
three other recordings from this night.

Audience tape and partial DVD. Available on CDR 'Worcester 88' . A new version from Mark Persic's master recording is now circulating with slightly better sound that on previous recordings of this show. This release includes the complete show unlike the 'First Date' boot - 'Heart Attack On The First Night' (Ev2). Some pro-shot footage (mostly short snippets, but also including a near-complete "Brilliant Disguise") supposedly shot by a local TV news crew is circulating among collectors. Second half of the show is also filmed from the audience. Soundboard recording of the soundcheck circulates.
