Welcome back to the series of probably uncirculated audience recordings. So the story goes, Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with
either a Sony 929 or 939 microphone (memories have faded on which exact mic) and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never
actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from
his collection to help upgrade many shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them.
This show has long circulated from Mark Persic's excellent master tape. Brucebase lists a second source of lesser quality is in limited circulation. It too
is a fine capture. Which brings us to Joe's tape. His is yet another quality recording of this show. What is only slightly frustrating is that all three
tapers have the same cut between I'm Going Down and Darlington County. I could probably spend hours trying to calculate and patch together an extra second or
two of the show, but I don't have the time or the energy to waste doing that.
Which recording you prefer is up to you. All three recordings are still on the Jungleland tracker. There is an annoying guy who is near to Joe throughout the
show. He has a dorky laugh and asks many questions.
I'll let a quote from Dime/Jungleland user slipkid68 sum up the performance and Persic's recording.
Nice to see this back on the tracker. This show combines a dream-like set list with the type of knock-out performance that characterized the October and
November shows. I'm partial to the 21st for sentimental reasons, but any scorecard would show the 22nd in strong contention for the better show: to judge
for yourself, listen to the first three songs. Each has a little more heft and stretching out than I recall. Amazing renditions all night long.
"Nebraska," "Shut Out the Light," "Stolen Car," and "Follow That Dream" in the same show. Plus it's Persic, and an outstanding one at that.
This one's a must. Thank you Mark for the enormous contributions going back so many years.- sk
Thanks to Tape Man Joe for recording and sharing his tapes and G for transferring the files.

Known faults:
Tape flip between I'm Going Down and Darlington County. No patch available. Persic and Recorder Two have the same tape flip.
Tape flip during Pink Cadillac. Patched with 9 seconds of Mark Persic Master.
From Brucbase:
World premiere of "Shut Out The Light" and the first "Stolen Car" since 1981. Also featured is Bruce dancing with his sister Pamela on stage.
Audience tape. Two recording sources circulate, released on CDR 'What Pulls People Apart' (Ev2) from Mark Persic's master recording, great sound quality and a
very nice setlist. A second source of lesser quality is in limited circulation.
