Welcome to the first in a series of probably uncirculated audience recordings. So the story goes Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with either Sony 929 or 939 microphones (memories have faded on which exact mic) and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from his collection to help upgrademany shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them.
The first show up is the first night of the final stand of the BITUSA tour. The stadium leg of this tour isn't going to top many folks lists as their favorite part of Bruce's career. Keeping 80,000 people engaged for three hours had to be a daunting task. The performance itself isn't the best of the stand, but does feature two tour premieres. War and the B-side Janey Don't You Lose Heart. During the show Bruce thanks writer/director Paul Schrader for sending a script that was called Born In The U.S.A. For those that don't know, this was the script that became the movie Light Of Day. It was later renamed after the Born In The U.S.A. outtake that Bruce sent Paul, after Bruce stole the title.
This show has two other recordings that circulate. Let's call the "Last Stand Volume 1" recorder 1 and "A Wav Transfer" done by AUDELISH70 as recorder 2. Recorder 1 is incomplete, missing the band introductions and Ramrod. Recorder 2 is complete. There were three small patches required and are listed below under known faults. Thanks to Cree01 and Bosstrade for checking their versions and Bosstrade for sending me Recorder 2.
Tape Man Joe has his ticket stubs.........................somewhere. He currently doesn't know where they are. He doesn't remember exactly where he was for this show. From time to time it sounds as if people are walking in front of him. This can especially be heard during Seeds. I guess the beer runs started well before the reunion era. Still with that being said I consider this an upgrade from the two previous recorders. The vocals are more upfront, there is less audience interference and the overall clarity is better. Samples provided below.

First show of four in Los Angeles as the Born In The U.S.A. Tour reaches its climax. Only performance of Born In The U.S.A. outtake "Janey, Don't You Lose Heart" until 1993, and until 1999 with the E Street Band. Live debut of "War", which Bruce sings with the lyrics taped to his arm.
Audience tape. Two recording sources circulate, available on CDR "Last Stand Volume 1". Excellent professionally shot videos of "Stand On It" and "Janey, Don't You Lose Heart" circulate on DVD.
