Welcome to the fourth in a series of probably uncirculated audience recordings. So the story goes Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with either Sony 929 or 939 microphones (memories have faded on which exact mic) and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from his collection to help upgrade many shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them.
This stretch of the BITUSA tour is most often regarded as the best of the tour. Philadelphia usually gets some of the best performances of any tour. The last two Spectrum shows have long circulated from the incredible Mark Persic masters. Joe does a terrific job of capturing a fine alternate to Mark's master. The sound is excellent throughout. There are a few screams and some clapping especially at the beginning of the show, but nothing that should take away from one's enjoyment of this recording. Their tape flips are almost mirror images of each other. Joe cuts it a second quicker than Mark and captures an extra half second at the beginning of Glory Days. There are two short flaws on the tape that I patched with Persic's master. They are listed below. To my knowledge, these are the only two recordings to exist of this show.
