Volume 5 of the DS Archives came as a surprise, a previously uncirculated 2nd recording source.
For you eagle eyed collectors that may have noticed a notation on "Known Faults" of volume 4 of a 1 second patch in the MC Introduction to that version, this is the source of that patch.
Though the collector in me gets very excited at any new or multiple sources for any show before you get to excited about this one it is very incomplete and recorded further back from the stage. I consider this one for the collectors and offer it up to those that want it all in a continuing effort to get all sources into circulation.
With that said I was very surprised to come across another source of any quality for this particular show, multiple recorders are never a surprise on the east coast or some of Bruce's stronger areas but I thought there would be very little chance for a 2nd recorder in Dallas in 1975.
As mentioned in the notes for Volume 4, it was misdated as September 15th. This source was dated correctly and my first assumption was it was simply an edited version of the complete source. There are some shared audience noises giving the appearance this might have been the same source, the shared audience noises on this source sounded further back in the recording. I at first chalked that up as this source simply being much higher generation which can have that effect. However, upon a further detailed review there are multiple areas of unique audience noises on each source. The "E Street Shuffle" was the confirmation with multiple up close laughter or chatter that was absent or very far back on this source.
Thanks go out to a number of folks that helped get this into your hands, from those that have been in touch with Dan for years and in turn put me in touch with him...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo to E from JEMS for the continued use of the NAK DR-1.
The biggest thanks to Dan for making his archives available for the enjoyment of us all...
