If you are using a window based machine you can do the following:
1) Go to the directory that you want to catalogue
2) In the address bar type ==> cmd
3) In the DOS window type ==> dir /ad > {directory name}.doc or .txt
4) This only works for WinWord
5) In MS Word position your curser at the left side of the space you want to
remove. Press ==> Alt (hold), Shift (hold) then left click the mouse to clear
the space on the left
This lets you erase the extra space without doing it line-by-line.
You can then past the text into an Excel column.
