anyone recognise these movies? I think might be depression era 1930's-40's
1st movie
A wealthy couple/family travel early to their summer home (or maybe winter home)
and discover a another family of freeloaders living in it. For some reason
(don't remember this bit) they make friends with the family.
Turns out these freeloaders make a habit of living in the homes of the wealthy
while they are away, wearing their clothing, etc. The film goes through a number
of events, the family learning things about themselves and ends with the wealthy
couple/family looking forward to meeting up with the freeloaders next
winter/summer.
_____________
2nd movie
A wealthy but very bored man at the time of the great depression is looking for
something to give his life meaning. He meets and falls for a girl who doesn't
like his never-do-well lifestyle. She challenges him to do something with his
life. He eventually gets a job as a salesman and likes actually earning pay for
doing a job, but is fired when he is recognized as a wealthy man who is taking
away a job from someone who needs it. He eventually winds up financing and
administrating a hospital, supplying jobs and medical care for the community.
