I use nGroups.net, and their 3000+ day binary retention is real. They do
have some gaps, mostly when the articles didn't fully propagate because
the OP used a flakey provider. Or, to put it another way, my waiting 5+
years to use or retry an NZB has not magically fixed the posting. But,
I'm still getting reliable downloads, mostly images that I passed over
when they were first posted.
Funny thing: Back then, there was a poster in a.b.d.c that was ALWAYS
touting the superiority of Giganews, I guess it was just her 'rose-colored'
glasses and not a verifiable reality.
Oh, yes, I did download that particular image of 'Victim' in January 2011
(based on the datestamp of the VIDEO_TS folder and it's contents).
BTW: nGroups does have a free "3 day / 5 GB" trial (which could be used
to mostly prove the availability of Victim (a 6.25 GB un-rar'd image).
Standard disclaimer: I don't work for them, I'm just a very happy
customer.
I can't upload for you, since I truly am in the middle of nowhere and have
less than a 1 Mbs uplink.
