My network server is in my office (a separate room in the house) and runs
24/7 -- the HX4s are connected by USB to the server, and each drive is
individually shares. It's probably not the "best" arrangement, but it works
for me.
Theoretically, the router can accept hard disks for sharing, but I haven't
explored all those bells and whistles yet. . . .
