I too quickly grabbed this hoping for a good copy of an old favorite.
This seems to be the best that's out there at present. If you read
some of the reviews of it here:

you'll see it's no better a transfer than many vhs copies.
It was a widescreen movie and I've yet to see a ws copy. Even a good
ws tv copy doesn't seem to exist.
