That intrigued me enough to see if I could find something on ratings,
but I found nothing. I did find the wiki entry for the book, and it
mentions that the film weighs in at 180 minutes - including
commercials. So your inference is quite correct. I'm quite surprised,
though, that we still have revisionists that take issue with the book
and want to apply modern viewpoints to it.
The quality is quite well for what there is - especially for a 50 year
old film! I didn't expect HD, but I am very impressed at what I've seen
so far.
Have you watched 'Der Untergang?' This is the film that was the source
of the 'Hitler in the Bunker' meme that resurfaces every now and then,
but it was heavily researched from all material and I found it to be
quite powerful. We hear all the time these comparisons of current
politicians to Hitler, but these people must not understand the monster
that Hitler truly was. None of our politiicians have ever come close to
him, and I don't believe it's possible for us (USA) to bestow that much
power on such an elected official. Such is the nature of a
representative republic.
