Thank you for this classic. It has to be one of my favorite under rated films.
Not as an anti-war movie, but one that shows integrity to oneself.
The question posed by this film is not pro / against war, but rather
authorianism vs. individualism. We see that individualism won when Sgt. Drake
put the picture of the bird on his wall, thus reclaiming part of himself that
had been buried.
