Geez! That software is even older than the thread you're responding to.

The simplest answer to the question is that the best software is
whichever software you like to use.

DVDDecrypter was great in the day, but it ceased in 2005. It _may_
decrypt your dvd, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work with a
newer title.

DVDShrink seems to work fine with any dvd - provided it is already
decrypted - but it's only good for shrinking a dvd from a DVD9 so that
it can be burned onto a DVD5. If you've moved from a dvd player to a
media player, this dvdshrink is of little use.

I don't ever recall having to install Gordian Knott in order to use DVDShrink.
