Found it!
Giganews' retention is only part of it. Even newer posts are
irretrievable using nzbking.
The problem is that nzbking is doing something different with the
creation of their nzb files, and my copy of newsbin pro is unable to
deal with it.
I'm able to open nzb files with JDownloader that Newsbin won't.
