Re 7Unit - I'll third that, but I have a problem....txt
I'm stuck in the world of dialup and using Xnews. That means that it
usually takes about three weeks of letting my computer d/l a movie at
night, even for the most compressed format. If someone posts a dvd image,
it takes about 5 weeks to d/l.
Since my usenet server keeps postings for nearly a year, that isn't
usually a problem, until I ran across your posts with all the file parts
under a single header. Xnews only recalls which part it finished one time
per thread, so the third time I start the d/l, Xnews starts the d/l from
the first part again. This has prevented me from being able to D/L any of
the posts that put an entire movie under a single thread. For all
practical purposes, I can't D/L anything that has more than about 150
MBytes per thread. If someone could suggest a news reader that is more
capable fo remembering where it last stopped the D/L, instead of where it
FIRST stopped the D/L, I would appreciate the help.

Joe
Hi Joe
Sorry but I'm not that tech savvy when it comes to Xnews or Dial Up, my ISP allows my to pull down about 80:GB per hour, hopefully one of the other members can steer you in the right direction with regards to an alternative downloading application, I don't RaR up my posts as it saves me a few minutes & it's more convenient for those downloading as they don't have to mess around unwrapping files etc.
However as I can sympathize with your current predicament I offer you the following alternative, if you see a title that you really want just leave me a reply stating which one(s) & I will repost the required title for you RaR'd up in 100:MB chunks, or Zipped up as either one is just as easy for me to prepare, let me know which one you prefer, :)
Best Wishes.
7Unit. & the collective, LOL
