Yes, it also reminded me of the movie Robocop, where a giant (and
frightening) killer robot goes head over heels in a staircase after
some hesitation, because it doesn't know how to move upon steps.
It's difficult to imagine how such “elementary” actions such as the
human walk are difficult to replicate.
(At least Asimo is rather “cute” and not a killer robot. So far...)
What I didn't clearly understand is the interest, for an automotive
firm like Honda, to conduct such long & costly research (unless they
aim to replace wheels by legs!).
