BANGLADESH SEES IT AS ITS NEXT BIG THING
Bangladesh is nurturing information technology as the
country's next core industry to replace the garment business.
Some 5,000 students are studying at a university dedicated to
training IT specialists. Global corporations such as Microsoft
& Samsung are looking to the country to help meet their future
needs for engineers. Some of the students, however, are opting
to start their own companies in the fields of social networking
and software development, creating opportunities for themselves
and their country.
PORTRAITS IN CREATIVITY
Haruki Murakami, Shu Uemura & Yayoi Kusama are
among the Japanese figures in the arts that have looked
into the lens of photographer Benjamin Lee.
He's been creating portraits of such people for more than 30
years. Thoughts of China, however, are rarely far from his mind.
Lee was born there and remains mindful of the restraints on
expression in that country. Lately, though, he's been
photographing people who are devoted to creativity in China.
