Also, (and not to put you off for your current request), if you have
trouble obtaining complete downloads of older sets from your Usenet
provider, you may want to consider subscribing to a block account.
Block accounts are used to backfill missing headers, or parts thereof.
You buy a fixed amount of download for a one-time fee (renewable when
you use up your current purchase).
You then configure your newsreader to look to the block server
whenever it can't find a segment on your primary account server.
Unless you download tons of ancient uploads, 50 to 100 gigs will last
you for many months.
I use Blocknews.net, and can now get nearly complete downloads going
as far back as late 2008. Rarely need more than a handful of PAR's to
complete the few incompletes I do experience. Prices are very
reasonable, especially to avoid the nuisance of spending a couple of
hours downloading, only to find the files all hosed up.
Best advice I ever took from another Usenet visitor.
