If, like me, you experience way the h3ll too many incomplete files on
Giganews, consider adding a supplemental account from someone like
Blocknew.net. When parts are missing from your primary account (Giga),
your newsreader will shell out to the supplemental account (eg.
Blocknews) for headers themselves, then the actual data parts when
downloading the files.
I used to have the world's worst problem getting older files using
Giga alone, but together with the secondary account (I use Blocknews
myself), I consistently get 99.99% complete downloads going all the
way back to late 2008. Block accounts are cheap insurance if you have
an interest in getting older files, expecially if you're on Giga for
your primary account.
