Cheers
I do have the anova. I have not used it much as I have a frezer full of SV
read about it here. this is part 2 of a lenghly review at eGullet:
http://forums.egullet.org/topic/146244-anova-sous-vide-circulator-part-2/
Ive been using the SV magic for about 3 years + put its large and has a
bit of rust on it. I DIY a few smaller heaters for small jobs
the Anova seems to have an excellent reputation
they have a new one comming out in the fall :
http://forums.egullet.org/topic/148325-new-anova-precision-cooker-announced-may-6-2014/
i
jumped in at the $ 99 pledge those pledges filled in about 40 minutes
I got the current anova at that time just in case it will be
discontinued.
then again look at this puppy :
http://forums.egullet.org/topic/146617-cuisinart-combo-steamconvection-oven/
I got this on sale for 197. Ive started to use it and its a very very
interesting product.
re: temp control: I use beer coolers exclusively as they retain heat
esp for long SV'ds
for cooking SV all the above worl well. it you need finer temp control
for something else, remember the insulated cooler.
let me know if you have any other Q's
