As far as I know, #americanidol does not support searches.
There are two types of searches in #survivor-central.
!xdccfind will look for hits in the main window of the sort...
/msg [SC]SomeServer xdcc send #NN
@find looks among the various servers with...
/ctcp SomeServer SomeTrigger
Or just use Control F to look up or down the main windows just
as you would in any word processor.

Each Saturday I post an "IRC.Cooking.Shows" file. It lists all
the shows in both the main windows as well as, more narrowly,
just their cooking shows.
This should make looking thru the offerings about as easy as
possibly. Apart from my posting, I usually check things every
other day, using the freeware NoteTab plus a small collection
of RegEx replacements to eliminate the chaff.
