It's the culmination of a process that's been going on for at least a
year and really picked up speed in fall 2018. It's Usenet's response
to aggressive DMCA takedowns by the big newsgroup service providers
like Giganews etc, which were resulting in shows being nuked within
minutes of their being posted in many cases. Shows are still being
posted but they're "obfuscated" to prevent them from being taken down
so fast--if at all. This obfuscation involves giving files meaningless
randomized names like "c05f12d8f6ba456e9ef152e9226a74e0" and posting
the segments across an array of newsgroups.
To "decode" the names you need to use an indexing service. I use
GeekSeek:
https://nzbgeek.info/index.php
But there are others. The better ones charge a modest membership fee.
It's well worth it.
YMMV
