I was asked to make a comment to a recording of Christ Church on the Alto's,
men vs. boy, it is not often that a good strong boy alto is found. Many of
them are actually trebles asked to sing alto and I believe that the choice
to use men added the resonance and volume needed to accentuate the alto
notes, so I have never had a problem with the exchange. Often a 2nd treble
is mistaken for an alto. These are just my own opinions.
