The old WSK LP posted by nene is another fine illustration of the perils facing record collectors.
I could not trace that item in my catalog until i began looking for individual tracks.
And I then found plenty!
I'll just try to put it clearly so that any innocent minded collector does not end up purchasing something that already is in his collection :-)
What I have is not an original but a CD I got a friend made from the rip of an LP.
I did not get any cover scans, but only notes as to the contents and label.
That LP, "Mit den WSK und die Welt", was a very short one of some 22 minutes on the Amadeo label (AVRS 9171)
There were 14 tracks in all, 7 from each side.
It has 12 tracks, 6 on each side.
And I have reason to believe that there is still another Amadeo LP (AVRS 18111) the title of which would be Internationale Volkslieder.
Notice the "surprising" similarity between the label numbers!
From what I can gather the contents of that third LP would be the same as that first one I already have.
The one track from nene's post that I did not have (but that I now have!) is the very first one, Aba Heidschi Bum-Beidschi.
And the three tracks that I had and that are not included in nene's post are three Japanese songs (at least I think they're Japanese):
So the conclusion:
I now have a 15 track CD, still very short, but of a higher quality as nene's rip is from an LP in far better condition.
And if nene, or some other person, asks nicely, I could post the three Japanese tracks...
Finally does anyone else find the picture from the cover scans somewhat familiar: it looks to me as maybe from a Disney WSK movie...
P.S. The recording would be from the mid 1960s
