Hi Snowy,
Thanks for taking the trouble. I think it was worth it. Even at almost
15, his treble voice doesn't seem anywhere near the end. I'm not an
Internet 'geek', but I did a little research, and the radio broadcast
was indeed the same Robin Blaze, but he was singing lyric tenor and
not counter-tenor. And it seems he is a professor of music theory, and
was indeed a treble with Magdalen.
And speaking of German choirs, a friend in Indonesia sent me a
documentary on the Kreuzchor broadcast on DW-TV in Germany in 8
episodes, (in English) and the talented students indeed stay with the
choir until they finish high school. It's an interesting series and I
thought about posting it, but although the video quality is good, he
wasn't too careful where he started and stopped the recording, and I'm
not nearly enough into video to edit the files. All I would do is make
ISO's. However, they are on 4 DVD's, so it would be quite an exercise.
But I guess if anyone was desperate to have them, I could think about
it.
I'll attach a pdf of "Boys Choirs of USA and Canada" in which the PC
du Mont-Royal don't even get a mention. That's very odd, since it is
probably one of the foremost choirs of North America.
