Chips, for what it's worth, I found that reducing the right channel by 15-18
dB using the sound editor of your choice seems to sort things out. At least
in my case, everything sounds fine with no apparent clipping. Or, of course,
one could adjust the balance control when playing the recording, but that
would get to be a nuisance.
