Thanks Thane
Well, it is hard to say it but the true is what it happened to me was no
other thing than negligence.
You know, if you can remember, i commented very excited a few time ago
that i have changed my old computer for a new super gamming computer that i
could build little by little...well, it was supposed that i would have four
Hard drives installed in my new computer at the end and in fact i could do
it because at the beggining i started with just two Hard Drives but at the
end, i bought more HDs and i could get the four hard drives installed i
wanted to have in my gamming PC.
So, what i had before the crash was this: One dedicated Hard Drive for my
OS only of 300 Gigs ( i use Win 7 and i do not save anything in this one, it
is just for my installed programs and my OS only and i always try to keep it
clean ), and the other three HDs were: One of 700 Gigs where all my treble
files i got from my friends were placed ( the Barracuda one by the way ) ,
another one of 1 Tera where my personal stuff is stored ( of course this one
is still almost empty and it is a WD HD ) and the fourth one is one of 1.5
Teras in which it was supposed i was about to put all my treble back ups
( this one is a Western Digital too ).... and this last one was all empty
when the crash took place !!
Well just to say that as same as one well known friend always uses to point
out when we talk about the pending things i have to do ( may be because he
tomorrow ) my back up process...hehehe, the fact is that i never did it and
i had everything ready for doing it.
Well just to say that i had to pay the price...Rigth now i have bought
another one of 1.5 Teras ( a Western Digital too )and this time you can bet
that i'm going to have duplicates of all my files. For the moment, i think
it is not necesary an external one, but in case i need it, i already have
an USB wire with a power supply that you can use in order to connect any
internal Hard Drive (Sata or IDE ) to you computer and use them like if
they were an external HD, in fact i used that wire to rescue all the files i
had in my old IDE HD from my old PC.
What i would like to know is if there is an option or a program you could
use in which you could use two Hard Drives at the same time....i mean,
something that makes to work both Hard drives as a mirrow of the other one
in which everything you do were saved in those two Hard drives at the same
time by default...that would be a very usefull thing in my case.
About my OS Hard Drive, i'm not too worried because in case it fails the
only thing i have to do is to replace it and re-install everything again
with out any fear of loosing any personal data.
May be the only thing i would have to worry about is what i have in my
windows mail program but as for the rest in that Hard drive i do not save
any file, so, it is not too much important.
I think this is one of the advantages of having several Hard drives
installed in your computer and use one ( the smaller one ) just for your OS
system only and nothing else because you always keep it clean, your computer
works better and you don't have to worry about anything in case you have to
re-install everything again or if it gets damage because all your data is
located in other place....but the real problem in this case ( as i have just
learned it ) is precisely to back up all your data of those other places
because those other hard drives could get damage too....most if they are
Seagate ...hehehehehe.
well.... this is what it happened to me.
And thanks for the covers.
