Just remember a couple of things:
This group, " the classical treble group" didn't has died since it was
created, slowly but surely it has been running from the begining, here you
can find new posts everyweek, perhaps you are talking about the other old
group...yeah ! that one in which all that libera, new age, chillout and pop
stuff should be and stay there.
I recognize the advantages of those loosles formats and i can not say
that they are not better than mp3, but in my personal opinion i do not like
that ape format in fact i do not download any ape file, perhaps the flac
format is the one i like more but because the size of those files, i do not
see why not to post Wav format instead, i mean, the flac files are very big
and they are almost of the same size than any Wav file. The only few times
i have posted flac files is because i have found those files in that way but
if i would change my way of posting my original cds i would do it in WAV
format instead in case anyone wants better quality, it is going to be
almost the same time i'm going to spend posting WAV files than posting flac
or any other so i prefer wav and it doesn't cause any problem to anybody.
Also Flac files and Ape files requires a special codecs installation and
some thechnie things that you have to do first in order to be able to handle
them...listenning them is one thing but ripping and converting to flac or
ape is other thing, this is not a problem for me but it will keep out of the
game to other people who doesn't have the knowledge and/or any intentions in
order to learn how to use them. Our most master treble guru poster could be
included in this category, so, if all you people want to keep him here
posting i will suggest other option, unless of course you were not
interested in his rare posts or you don't care.
The other option Could be the creation of a loosles group as same as it
exists with the classical music group, in the same way we created this
classical group when we wanted to move here. they have a loosless group and
a mp3 group and a many posters use both, they post their flac format in one
group and thier mp3 format in the other group, they take the time to rip the
cd in both formats and post them in each group.
About the FAQ, well, the FAQ for this specific group is very easy "just
post classical treble music", it was ( in fact ) suggested by Amahl to keep
it in that way when we tryed to create one for this group when we moved
here and i think he was right, the name of the group is good enough in order
that every body can know that this is a classical group specialized in
choral classical and cathedral music sung by treble boys choristers only.
And just a last comment and perhaps a favor...please do not crosspost, as
far i have understood crossposting the same message to different groups at
the same time the only thing it causes is to atract spammers, i suggest if
you or any one want to say the same thing in different groups the best way
is to post the message separetly and individualy for each group.
