Power Post is what everyone uses - Here is a good set of instructions
I got from Isis - always works and well
Start up QuickPar, click on "Options" and be sure there's a check mark
in "Repair automatically". You won't need HJSplit or anything else.
What you need is Powerpost winrar and quickpar.
Right click winrar on the folder, and choose ADD to Archive.
Now, when the Archive name and parameters box appears, on the bottom
left it says split to volumes, bytes. in here i put 50,000,000 In the
compressionm method box, i change this to Fastest, you will see it
starts on normal. This will now split the movie into equal parts of
around 48,500-49,500kb files. allow this to finish where you will have
around 90+ equally split files.
Quickpar. Click on ADD Files.
Tips from Isis
If you want to check your QuickPar settings, let's go: In <Options>
the yEnc radio button should be checked & the number of lines
should be 10,000 per JimB0ss' instructions. On the front panel the
'Restrict Block Size...' box should be ticked. The 'Source Block
Count' slider should be set to maximum. The 'Number of Recovery
Blocks' should be set to either 127 or 255, depending upon how
generous you feel.
(We need parentheses around the release year, but that isn't a major
issue.)
PowerPost Subject Header: You need to put the $F in double quotes so
that BinSearch can form a collection of your files.
Adding the <File Number> & <File Total> to your header would be
helpful.
So go from $F to "$F" - $1 of $2
You still don't have your PowerPost yEnc line setting set to 10000.
Right now it is still at the old 2004 default of 1950. It is found in
PowerPost <Setup><Program>. (It is important that the setting be the
same in both PowerPost & QuickPar.)
NZB
It's important to generate the .NZB file AFTER you've selected the
newsgroups otherwise PowerPost won't know what to do.
