AKA "Gregory K"
Gregory K. is a 12-year-old boy who made history. Abused and neglected by
his parents, he became a celebrity when he took them to court and pleaded to
be divorced from them so that he could be adopted by his loving foster
parents.
Dramatic and emotionally charged, "Switching Parents" probes all the contro-
versies raised by the case, which made legal history. It looks at the trau-
matic life of a boy used as a pawn between his violent, drunken father and
his alcoholic mother. It looks at a gripping, controversial law case which
some choose to see as rich foster parents bullying a poor mother into resign-
ing her rights to her child.
But most of all, it looks at the emotional pressure put on Gregory himself,
as he is torn between his loyalty to his loving but alcoholic mother and his
own need for happiness and security.

It's been quite a while since I last watched this, and you know how bad, err,
non-existent my memory is (what was my name again?), so I can't really
comment on the movie itself.
What I *can* comment on, however, is JGL...
This is one of the most truly beautiful little guys on this entire Third Rock
from the Sun (did you see what I did there?), and at the risk of incurring
Ewwwws from my audience, I'd even go so far as to say that he turned out to
be one very fine-looking man!
The exceptionalness (that is so a word, dangit!) doesn't end with his good
looks, though - He has a very natural way of acting that makes any role he
tackles come to life. I'm reminded of his performance in 1994's "Holy
Matrimony," where he co-starred with Patricia Arquette (and acted rings
around her, I might add! :-P).
