After his family's sailboat is caught in a terrible storm at sea, 8-year-old
Robby awakens the next morning to find himself alone on a deserted stretch of
beach in the half-sunken dinghy his mother placed him in to escape the sink-
ing ship.
While exploring his new surroundings, Robby discovers another little boy on
the island, this one a native --unable to speak English and totally naked--
who immediately saves the little city-dweller from drowning. The two become
fast friends, Robby naming him 'Friday' from the Robinson Crusoe tale. While
Friday teaches Robby how to swim, Robby returns the favor by beginning to
instruct Friday in the English language.
The pair work together to construct a shelter and gather food, and also spend
many blissful hours in frolick and play on the ideallic tropical isle, Robby
quickly becoming accustomed to going around in the nude, like Friday.
But one night the lads are awakened by the sound of another human voice --
There is someone else on the island!

The quintessential definition of a Boy Movie!
A beautiful and innocent tale that has received much undeserved publicity
since its release in 1968.
Can you just imagine if this were digitally restored and released on Blu-ray?
Zaphod wouldn't be heard from again for years... :devil:
In the archive you'll also find an E-Book version of the story - This not a
Retail published thing, but was created using the 'book' that is contained on
the DVD, and screenshots from the film, but I find it quite interesting to
read through and look at the pictures :)
Also included in the archive are a most certainly [Not Safe for Work] custom
DVD cover and label that I found in my travels on the Interwebz.
