Shaw is still carrying YAB, but nothing is coming through but text spam.
Their new NNTP contractor, Highwinds, is probably blocking binaries in YAB.
Newstar IS carried (it wasn't before) and posts came through dated today.
First time I've checked to see if we were getting it.
Two ideas:
1) Get your newsreader to either 'get new groups' or 'get all groups' or
however it works on a Mac. In other words, refresh all your newsgroups
listings.
2) If you can, try setting your newsreader for simply 'shawnews' and
nothing else. That has worked for some people; my newsreader
(Pan/Linux)defaults to that and it worked immediately when I had to
do a reinstall. Several friends have said that /some/ IPs (like
Vancouver and Winnipeg) are not getting all the groups, although they are
all routed through Calgary. Why don't they propagate? I have no idea.
That's Shaw for ya!
Good luck!
