Sadly, the repost has exactly the same problem. All files, including
the par2 & rar files corrupted.
I wonder if it's a Giganews issue? Has anyone successfully
downloaded these posts from elsewhere?

I doubt that it's giganews. it's something on my end between my
posting sw and the server. i've been testing with various sw and
files and can't get an uncorrupted post. stay tuned. need to find
another usenet provider to test with.
