Once you have loaded books to the Calibre program, Click on the "Edit
metadata" icon at the top. In the new window to the left of the word
"Title" there is a little icon with two squares in it and two arrows.
Click it and it will swap the title with the authors name. If you want
the authors name to appear last name first and first name last, retype
it in the "Title Sort" window. If you want the title to read without
"A" and "The" etc. to appear after a comma then retype it as you want
it in the "Author Sort" window. Then convert the book to mobi format
and the file will be author first and title second.
I don't know if there is a shorter way. If there is I hope someone
will help us both out. Other people have talked about this before and
I am not sure why the creater of Calibre has never offered the option
except for the one I have mentioned. My way of dealing with it has
always been to store all of my books in folders under the author's
name.
