Given the results of my Hot Numbers post over the weekend it's clear I
need a better DVD creator than Micro$ofts! I grabbed a copy of
VideoPad Editor last year and wasn't thrilled with it - very
non-intuitive and it's expired anyhow.
Some years back I had a free version of TMPGEnc and liked it. Looking
at their website it seems to me that creating DVD's can be done with
both the Authoring and Rendering programs. I've got a (small) bunch
of VHS tapes and capturing equipment capable of capturing to MPEG1 and
(I think) MPEG2 and want to get them on DVD while editing out the
trailers, the ads for phone sex and the Excalibur 'shy girl'.
From those who have it, is the Smart Renderer at $70 enough or do I
need the Authoring s/w at a buck or the Mastering at a buck and a
quarter?
I don't want or need an Adobe Premiere or some such with a
gazillion-and-2 features I'll never use, just something 'good enuf'.
Many thanks for advice/clarification.
