From VHS dub. When I recorded it, I had the volume level set too high. I
adjusted the level with the Stereo Synthesizer, but is still a little loud but
did not detect any distortion. There may be some in high volume areas as I did
not check the whole movie after I was done. Just a few areas and the rest at
20x. I could have corrected the volume, but the damn thing took over 16 hours
for TMPGE to complete with the denoising and other corrections. There are a
couple of bad spots in the tape and naturally some in the Christy Canyon main
scene.
There is noise throughout the movie on the left hand side of the screen. I could
have cropped it out, but decided to leave it that way as maybe someday, there
might be some software that can correct it. That noise probably came from the
original rental tape as a lot of duplicators in that era were shit for quality.
Not as bad as Zane shit a decade later though!!!!
Overall the quality is pretty good. But you can see ghosting in many areas. I
tried fixing it, but just made it worse, so I skipped trying to fix the
ghosting. You can really see it in the beginning credits and long distance
shots. Close up scenes are not too bad. The problem is there is ghosting on both
sides, not just one as is the usual case.
