re your question about the VCX source (PAL?) runtime
I don't know. But I knew right away when watching that DVD
that VCX was up to its usual tricks. For most of the credits,
they (obviously) replaced the original, but at the beginning,
as Holmes and Cousteau enter the pizza parlor, VCX simply
overwrite the Tehama Timson Releasing Inc (see attached), also overwriting Presents with (c) 1979 VCX.
Your version also includes a screen crediting the males (Paul
Thomas, Carl Regal, Mack Howard, Spencer Davis) that isn't in
the VCX version. And VCX has "Amber Peck" vs "Amber Peak".
John T. Chapman becomes John Chapman.
WTF? VCX is able to replace the rest of the opening credits
with the same text in a different font and place but it
botches trying to obliterate the name of the original
distributor of the thing?
Meanwhile, nobody at VCX took issue with a reference to
fucking little girls.
Send in the clowns.
