:I think it's the disc, actually.
:
:I had some difficulty with partial parts but was able to recover them
:using the par2s and everything checked out fine. I often convert
:supplemental discs to DVD5 and that's where the problem occurred.
:
: Actually, the app I use (Popcorn) did the conversion fine once I ran
:it through another app to remove the encoding (something I always have
:to do with Croyd and FreeAgent's posts - does anyone know why their
:posts require further decryption before you can write to a disc?) but
:when it shifted to write mode it choked. I'm sorry I didn't screenshot
:the error message, but the gist of it was something like "cannot find
:data to build track."
Not being a Mac user, I'm not familiar with Popcorn, but I suspect that it's
that 'other' app that you are using to remove 'the encoding' that is causing the
problem. You shouldn't have to remove anything in order to burn discs that are
posted here. We all remove the copy protection & regional encoding prior to
posting.
It sounds like your app removed something it shouldn't have. As far as Free
Agent & Croyd are concerned, they are using a rather dated freebie app to
decrypt DVDs, so it occasionally stumbles a bit on the more modern releases. I
am using Slysoft's AnyDVD HD which is updated every couple of weeks or so.
:I've never seen this error message before and haven't seen it since. I
:DLed again and repeated the process with the same result. And the main
:disc seemed to be fine.
You might check to see if all of the files (.ifo,.bup,&.vob) are still there
after any processing you have done, and that you haven't created any new 0 byte
.vob's.
:Thanks for your help here and huge thanks again for your wonderful posts :-)
