About exclusivity or non-exclusivity about classic films, there would
be many things to say, since they all try to share a specific market,
and they even exchange their know-how under the carpet.

For instance it would be interesting to set a comparison between
releases of a same film like 'L'Argent' [Money] by Marcel L'Herbier:

http://www.carlottafilms.com/php/fiche_dvd.php?rubrique=1&ss_rubrique=100&id_film=252
http://www.dvdclassik.com/Critiques/argent-lherbier-carlotta-dvd.htm
http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/largent/

It is to be noticed that almost all the material and extra features
are shared in common. Who was the first, who was the last, I do not
know. I just know that Carlotta has issued a wonderful 2-Disc DVD9 set
and did not regret the purchase. Even if half of their catalog is
non-exclusive, the other half is. So arounf 200 hundred films to
enjoy!
Of course, Carlotta cannot stand the comparison with English spoken
films, a domain where 5 to 8 companies share this market segment.
Better to say that they all contribute to make know a large amount of
fantastic films that still remain unknown in the world.

Cheers,
Nomad
