It will take days to wipe that big fat smile of my face after
reading your answer J. :-)
Yes, but my task is most humble, serving the public to report those
jewels of cinema, you and others have so generously posted in here
and dvd.classics. They sometimes were forgotten in the sheer endless
stream of harry potter and bond movies, and I felt that they must
get the exposure they so very well deserve. Besides all of us in
here, maybe one or two will pick them up and after watching come to
the conclusion that they actually liked it, even without the happy
hollywood ending.
You're quite right of course, even a good copy from another studio
is not the real deal, but I was ever so careful not to make the list
too long, wink, wink, notch notch. I will now have to make a new
list including those ones that were posted from another studio.
There''s absolutely no hurry in this, it took me many years to get
as far as I am now, but if you got them and are willing to share
them, I'd say start with the ones you might have lined up as you
mentioned and then from old to new is probably the best idea.
I can help out with the 6 Rohmer's, if the request is this box set:
http://www.criterion.com/boxsets/417 ?
Sorry about Howards End, didn't realise it was still to be released.
But I'm sure it will get posted in due course :D.
Trying to stay away from blue-ray, all of my collection is on ehdd
and I can't afford it.
It may seem a bit rigid to collect and complete all these films from
Criterion, surely not all of them are of one's taste, but my excuse
is simple. I was never a big fan of American Cinema until Criterion
opened my eyes, I would have never recognized the absolute beauty of
Umberto D., seen many many years ago, till Criterion released it and
I got adamant to get myself a dog like Flike. These just two examples
of the many Criterion brought to me. So even if content or director
is not of my liking, it it's released by Criterion, i want to see it
to keep an open mind.
Many thanks in advance and for those already shared....
