Finalizing a disc just stops you being able to write more data to it. Some early
DVD players wouldn't play if a disc wasn't finalized but it's generally not an
issue these days. The setting shouldn't cause disc failures though.
Have you given Imgburn a go? It's easily my favourite burning software and
supports bluray burning and best of all - it's free.
