As a change from WW1 and 2, here is a link to the NZB's returned for
an extremely rare PBS documentary on the history and evolution of
television.

Produced in 1988 and hosted by Edwin Newman, it's an eight part review
of television from its inception, and the changing trends in genres
over the years. It's rare because it was shown only once and never
repeated. It's also never been released on home video, probably owing
to the rights associated with all the programs' clips used in the
series. My understanding is the it's only available in some college
libraries for journalism students.

I found it fascinating and thought you might like a pointer to the
uploads. They were posted in 2013, ought to be available to anyone
with a decent service, so I won't post them myself. Note that the
poster uploaded episodes to several newsgroups instead of just one, so
pay attention to where the headers go when you populate them; they
won't all go into the same newsgroup. (I don't know why people do
things like that.)

It's been uploaded in an mkv (480p) format in eight eps, and also in a
set of eight DVD5's, so you can take your pick from the returns on the
above link (same material, different format).  The quality is quite
good considering it's from a VHS source from some guy who taped it on
its only broadcast, nearly 30 years ago.

If you're an old-timer, you'll enjoy this journey back through time.
If you're a young-timer, you'll find it a fascinating story of where
the medium came from and how it progressed towards today's (1988)
programming, with all its virtues and vices.

Cheers.
Colonel Buckshot
