I have a fairly new motherboard and power supply but will take the
WD40 advice, I bought some cheap SATA cables from E-Bay... maybe thats
worth looking at.
I also know that the (new) HDD thats playing up is connected to the
old style (4x round pin connector) But, its a new power supply AND a
New connector that converts and connects the two.
(brand new power supply/brand new adapter converting the 4 pin (round)
to the SATA format on the problem HDD).
Also... DVD drive AND M-Disc drive are also playing up (randomly) even
though they are DIRECT SATA Power Supplied from a new PSU.
Its Not an overloaded PSU, I'm using less internal devices now than I
was Before I bought a new PSU.
ALL very confusing.
I still have my old motherboard in the attic, I just need the time to
do some trial and error work.
But nothing worse than an intermittent fault.
The old motherboard is the exact same as the new one... I only
replaced it because the onboard internet port (CAT5 Connection) died,
I Could have just bought a card to put in it and connect to the
internet but I went for Doing the job Properly and replaced the MB !
:)
Tweaknews speeds... Early days for me. I will have a mess about with
the connection settings in Agent and see what happens.
Also have to make sure that I'm NOT 'traffic managed' by Virgin
Media's' UNLIMITED DOWNLOAD SPEED/BANDWIDTH' (except for when IT IS...
24/7).
